Mr. Anthony Austin, Patron of Laurels International School and Chairman of Laurels Global UK, is a distinguished leader dedicated to bringing world-class educational practices to schools worldwide. An alumnus of Cambridge University, Mr. Austin is fluent in English, Italian, French, German, and Swedish, and has traveled extensively, working with leading organizations across the globe.
With a career spanning multiple sectors, Mr. Austin has held key editorial positions at Reuters, serving as its Financial Editor in London, Chief Correspondent for Nordic countries (Stockholm), and Chief Correspondent for Southeast Asia (Bangkok). His vast international exposure has fuelled his passion for education, global collaboration, and cultural exchange.
As Chairman of Laurels Global UK, Mr. Austin actively works with schools to introduce world-class educational methodologies, develop innovative curricula, and facilitate student and teacher exchange programs. He has been instrumental in launching video conferencing initiatives, allowing students to engage with peers worldwide, discuss global issues, and collaborate on international projects.
Mr. Austin is also a strong advocate for sustainable living and community development, having served as a coordinator for Greenwich Cyclists, promoting better cycling infrastructure in the UK. He remains actively involved in educational and social initiatives, ensuring that schools under the Laurels Global umbrella maintain the highest standards of academic excellence, ethical leadership, and global awareness.
