Recently, our school had the honour of hosting a beautiful classical music performance organised by SPIC MACAY. Renowned sitar player Ustad Saeed Zafar Khan, along with tabla artist Ustad Babur Latif, performed in front of students and teachers and created a magical atmosphere through music.

As soon as the performance began, the entire hall became peaceful and attentive. Many students who were listening to live classical music for the first time were amazed by the sound of the sitar and tabla together. The rhythm, melody and coordination between the artists made the experience memorable for everyone present.

Ustad Saeed Zafar Khan belongs to the famous Delhi Gharana of Hindustani classical music and comes from a family deeply connected with music for generations. He has performed at many respected music festivals in India and has also been associated with All India Radio and Doordarshan as a recognised artist. His dedication and years of training were clearly visible in his performance.

Such programmes are very important for students because they help us connect with Indian culture and traditions in a more meaningful way. Listening to live classical music is very different from hearing songs on phones or television. It teaches patience, concentration and respect for art.

Many students were curious to know more about musical instruments and classical music after the session.

The performance became one of those special school memories that students will remember for a long time. It was not only an entertaining event but also a learning experience that introduced students to the beauty and richness of Indian classical music.
